Privacy Policy

Goalhive (“the app”, “we”) is a personal life-planning app. We designed it to be private by default: your data lives on your device, and cloud backup is optional and goes to your own Google account. We do not sell your data. The app is free and is supported by ads served through Google AdMob (see “Advertising” below); we use no other third-party analytics or trackers.

What data the app handles

• The data you enter: profile (name, birthdate, country), goals, habits, tasks, journal entries (and moods), focus sessions, meditation & breathing sessions, finance entries, trips, businesses, family details, fitness/health logs, recovery streaks, reminders, and photos you attach. All of this is stored locally on your device in an on-device database.
• Photos you attach to goals/trips/proofs are stored locally; if you enable cloud backup they are included only as part of your encrypted-in-transit backup to your own Google Drive.
• Approximate location — only if you use the Trip feature’s “tag where I completed this trip”, and only at the moment you tap it. It is stored as a place label on that trip. We do not track your location in the background.

Optional Google Sign-In & Drive backup

• Signing in with Google is optional and used solely to back up and restore your data.
• We request your basic profile (name, email, profile photo) and the drive.appdata scope, which gives access to a hidden, app-private folder in your Google Drive. We cannot see any other files in your Drive.
• Your backup file is stored in your Google account, not on any server we control. We do not run a backend and do not receive a copy of your data.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Goalhive is free and supported by occasional full-screen ads served by Google AdMob, a Google advertising service. To deliver and measure ads, AdMob may collect and process your device’s advertising identifier (Ad ID) and standard device and usage information. This is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services”. We request non-personalized ads where possible. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your device settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads). Ads appear only at natural breaks (for example, when a focus or meditation session ends) — never over your content.

Permissions we request (and why)

• Notifications — to deliver reminders and your daily motivation (you control these).
• Camera / Photos — only when you choose to attach a photo to a goal, trip, or proof.
• Location (when in use, approximate) — only when you tap “tag location” on a trip. Optional.
• Advertising ID (AD_ID) — used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads (see Advertising above).

What we do NOT do

• No analytics SDKs beyond what AdMob needs to serve ads; we do not sell your personal data.
• No account or password is required to use the app.

Data retention & deletion

• Delete everything on your device any time: More → Reset all data.
• Remove the cloud backup: revoke Goalhive’s access in your Google Account, which removes the app-data folder, or sign out in More → Account & Backup.
• Uninstalling the app removes all local data.

Children

Goalhive is intended for general audiences (13+) and is not directed at children under 13.
